Wendy Baker trained as a primary school teacher in the seventies, then taught for four years before leaving to raise a family. She and her husband attended Bible College of New Zealand then spent three years on the staff of Waikanae Christian Holiday Park before going to Papua New Guinea as missionaries.
Returning to New Zealand Wendy taught School Certificate English part-time at a TOPS course, then became the Waikato Advisor for the Churches Education Commission and lectured for six years in Hermeneutics and Spiritual Development at Vision Leadership College. Later she went back to relief teaching in primary schools before moving on toher current position of adult literacy tutor at River City Training Academy in Hamilton.
