Bodle, author of the Planet Guardians series of fantasy adventure books for 8-12 year olds. S.V. Bodle is not only a self confessed ‘book junkie’, but a talented writer and storyteller who is already being compared to J.K. Rowling. That’s not hard to do when your books actually outsell Harry Potter (July school holiday in-store promotions) and are consistently rated as ‘the best books ever read’ by a growing number of young people and their parents.
S.V. Bodle started writing in her early 20s – she is still only just reaching 30 – after discovering a story inside that just kept growing and became all-consuming. The characters kept talking to her and almost telling their own story at times. She completed a teaching diploma at the Sydney based Australian Writing School, and unleashed her incredible creativity on paper soon after. 3 top selling books within 3 years became an obsession and soon she was at the London Book Fair seeking opportunities for sale of international publishing rights in 2008. Negotiations and discussions are still ongoing about this – nothing happens fast in the publishing world – but certainly the potential for this series of books and their author is unlimited.
Not one for sitting still and waiting for things to happen; she regularly visits schools to read and discuss her books with a growing number of young fans, and holds regular workshops for writers to help them discover how they can unleash their own creative flow.
